HND Interactive Media

DESCRIPTION

The HND Interactive Media award was designed to address the increase in demand for web designers and multimedia developers which resulted from the increase in use of web-based applications by most business organisations. On this course you will gain skills that will enable you to design, develop and deploy professional websites using the latest industry-standard software. You will learn how to create interactive websites and then integrate video, audio, images/photographs and computer animations into these sites. Also, you will be given an opportunity to work as part of a team on real-life projects and will be working with assigned clients. In year 2 of the course you will create dynamic websites and learn about scripting for the world wide web and interfacing with databases to build e-commerce sites. These are important skills and are in demand from employers. By the end of the course students will have gained an in-depth understanding of what to expect when working within a web-related role for an employer. This practical-based course will give you an opportunity to explore your creative design skills as well as developing technical expertise.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This course is suitable if you have achieved Higher Qualifications, or have successfully completed a non-advanced College course. For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry subject to availability.

PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

On successful completion of the course, students can progress directly to third year of nominated degree courses. Career opportunities may include employment as web designers or multimedia application developers.
