The course is designed to develop knowledge of contemporary applications of computing and digital media in current use e.g. making movie and sound clips.

Who is it aimed at?

This course is aimed at students who wish to discover and develop skills in the area of IT and digital media. Entry requirements are relevant standard grades at general level.

What qualification can lead to it in terms of jobs or further course of study?

Successful completion of this course can lead to progression onto Higher National Certificate courses in Computing or Interactive Media which in turn can lead to progression into specified university courses.  Successful students can look at job positions in web development or multi-media application development, for example.

What you get to do on the course?

This is a varied course designed to give students a broad introduction to and use of contemporary digital media equipment and applications.  Students will record and edit movies, sound and images.  They will create Flash animation  elements and from these create products such as web sites as a show case for their work.
